Those are usually custom made parts. You might find something in the online sources list but best bet is to find a shop in your area to fab one up.

Only thing I might suggest is to make a bracket the surrounds the shaft of the shifter kinda like a box, about half way up. Partly to keep the shift arm from bending and to maybe mount springs to make sure the arm returns to the correct stationary location. But I have not done one so it is nothing more than a possible suggestion.

WOW is that bare bones! Big weight loss. Might not fit with your idea but a rear fender would prevent skunk back! You know, the streak of dirt that goes clear up your back

How did you get the pipes off?

I've been trying to get mine off for hours:
I got the exhaust sprockets off
Took off the retainer bolt in the rear pegs but they are really stuck on there and I don't want to mess them up because I want to wrap them.
I like the bare bones look as well, have you thought about putting your tail lights in the frame?

The exhaust that was on there was not stock so it was easy to remove, sorry i couldn't help more. Well i am not putting signals just a brake light on the plate frame. I still have alot of work ahead of me but i am getting through it, i think it looks cool!

Re: Honda CB 750F Suicide Shifter

Hi all, I'm new here. I have been threatening to chop the 82 CB750 that I acquired for a while. I spent a lot of time talking about it with my co-worker, Rick Markee. He died on Saturday. I am now full bore into this project in memorium.
My first question is, will the bike run without the speedo and tach? Cops and DMV are not an issue where I'm from, and the guages are huge and ugly.
I'm gonna make a suicide shifter, I can send you pics. It looks like it will be easy.
Thanks in advance.

You can run just fine without either. You might just have to plug the hole for the tach and speedo cables. might just want to try a small tach though that way you know at least your rpm's.

Thanks for the reply. This bike is going to be unreal. I wish I could afford the small digi tach/speedo/everything else from Dennis Kirk. Could I hook that up to this bike?

Thanks! My tank is on the way, when I get that on, I can fab the shifter. It's gonna be #5 rebar with a douglas fir handle to match the wood springer seat I'm making.

After some brainstorming,

You wouldn't happen to know what the electrical clutch switch does?

I was thinking I'd put the clutch lever right on the shifter, but the stock lever is god awful huge.

Another thing I'm considering is welding a "fake" one to the foot shifter and leaving the lever on the bars. That way, I have the best of both worlds. If I'm cruising with my feet on the forward pegs, I can be all cool and bump the thing with my right hand. If I'm dealing with a stop or something, I can use my foot like normal.

Thoughts?

I just think that stock lever is too big for that, and I don't know if I can eliminate the clutch switch inside it and use a different, smaller lever. Maybe it can be cut down.

My second idea is growing on me. Kindof like threatening to end it all with no intention of following through. Pussy? Maybe. Better off? Probably.

Hmmmn.......
