Honda CB750 Pod Filtering

honda_newbie
I know that pod filters are a topic of controversy.  So, I'll preface this by stating that I know that these pod filters can work provided you get all the specifics right. I just need some advice and getting pointed in the right direction for getting the specifics correct.

I installed the 4 uni pod filters and bumped the jets up to 110.  However, the motorcycle will idle very slowly (below the 1000 rpm) to where it sounds like it's about to die unless I keep the throttle open just a bit.  Or it will idle and sounds as if the throttle is wide open. I have tried to find that sweet spot with the idle adjuster and I don't think (with the current settings) that it's possible.

My question is, do I need to adjust the fuel mixture screws to a different setting other than the 2 1/2 turns out that they're at or do i need to go down to 105 jets?  The bike was at 68's on the jets with the stock air box.

Pods will not affect idle. It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. As for getting pods to run, yes you can get them to run, but not as good as the stock airbox, unless you change to a different type carb. The CV carbs on these bikes just will not work well with the pods. And it is not a matter of jetting that causes this. It has to do with the vacuum/pressure between the atmospheric pressure, and the engine vacuum drawing air through the carb. This controls the diaphragm and slide in the carb. If you could find a way to adjust/reset this, you could make a fortune.
