Honda OIL GAUGE KIT

Got a oil gauge kit but it's kinda old.  There is this "sealing liquid" that was in the boxfor the adaptor but I'm not sure how old it is.  Any suggestions as to what else would work to make sure the gauge and adaptor are sealed correctly?  Thanks.

Without being able to see the gauge, maybe a rubber washer or neoprene washer would seal. Maybe some blue loketite might do it? I think the blue allows you to remove things and I would think it would seal. I guess a lot depends on how long it is going to stay on the bike.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Teflon tape on the thread is another idea. It works well and is inexpensive.
