I noticed a reoccurring theme here.

LOL. Keep this in mind (what not to do) when I come pick up that '77. I pulled the one where the guy rides up into the pickup and falls over the side at the top of the ramp when I loaded up my '79. Hurt me more than the bike, damn near broke my hip.

Truck
I used to have a Virago that my parents decided to get a $900 paintjob on for christmas.  While loading it up on the trailer to take home my dad managed to let the bike tip over and punched a hole through the freshly painted tank. Learned some new, interesting combinations of porfanity that day

I was taught something one day by a guy I had just sold a bike to.

My driveway slopes down and this guy parked his pick - up part way into the street and put his ramp on the back of the tailgate which was down.

He pushed the bike up the ramp and when the bike got the front wheel on the truck he just stepped onto the truck and pushed it the rest of the way on. By having the truck parked at the end of the down sloped drive he only had to step up about one foot to get onto the truck. He made it look so easy.
The night before I was really worried because I also saw all of the videos of what could go wrong.

That's exactly how I do it.
