How to determine 750K models

cogwheel53
I have a new-to-me 1978 Honda CB750K.  When looking for parts or reading this forum, I have seen there are K0 - K8 and KZ.  I believe the 1977 and 1978 bikes were sort of a transition model and their parts seems to be less common.  So, can anyone tell me which model number(0,1,2...8) my bike would be?

You are making it harder on yourself. First off the 78k was not a transition, it was a somewhat redesign.
You can use and 78 parts but also 77. You can make use of many of the earlier K parts as well.
As for models there was the K and the F which some called the supersport. Thats it, there was no kz, a kz is probably a kawasaki.

As for availability, that used to be true but a lot of 77/78s have been put back on the road and parts are much more common now.
partsnmore.com is a good site
david silver spares is good if a little pricey since they are in the UK.
I have a whole list of places but this site does not have a sticky function from what I have been able to find.

Hi first time on this forum. On a similiar subject. I am picking up a 1978 CB750 on Friday. it is an F2 and has rear disc and front twin discs. But it has comstar wheels which I don't really like. Is there some way I can replace these wheels with wire ones yet still retain the disc break system?

if you are in the US, the 78 model is actually the F3.

Hi, I have now picked up my CB750four 1978. It is the same as this 0nly very tatty. poor choice really considering I prefer an alloy coloured engine and spoked wheels, and it turns out this model had valve issues. Anyhow I will try to make the best of it. I don't want to restore it, but make a cafe out it. So I suppose I can get it how I want it but with more cost.

Can anyone tell me the significance of the chassis number it is CB750g - 1005XXX What is the G about. I believe it is usually F

Hats off to the guy who did this restoration though. Beautifull job.
