How to install airbox? Feel like an idiot!

locust17
This is my 81 cb750c.

Point of the matter is its running lean with 120 jets and I felt like I can maybe put the airbox and somehow get away with running it okay without buying stock 102 and 68 jets. So I ordered a 1980 cb750c Airbox with airfilter and took the chance to see if it would even fit, although the seller did tell me it did supposebly fit. When I got it I tried seeing if I can just put it in normally but I figured I got to remove obviously the pods that I want to be replaced by the airbox, and remove the carbs and somehow managed to remove the boots from the carbs and have the airbox squeeze in there but I dont know how its supposed to line up? Here is a picture of what I'm talking about

I feel like it hits the top part of the first red circle and the bottom circle idk if I have figured it out but am thinking I'm missing the Airbox Boots that are different from the carb boots for me to finish installing it? Help me out!
