They leak oil, and gas. You also get gas on your fingers when, you tickle the carbs. They vibrate, and parts fall off. However worst of all they have "Lucas" electrics. Which are the work of Satan himself.

Realy?! Well, that just won't do. Well, you just saved me the trouble of test riding it. If a brake squeal bothers me you know i wont be able to handle that.I was sitting at a light today beside a brand "H" bike and was noticing his trunk bouncing up and down what looked like a good inch.I thought "well, maybe the vibes dont make it to the rider all that bad".Then i noticed his blue jeans and shoe laces were also shaking.I guess i aint man enuff.Hmph, and to think he looked down his nose at me on my bike.Oh well

I can confirm that.  I started out wrenching on an early 70s Bonneville 650.  This one was bored out .060 over (if a dim memory hasn't failed me). It was a vertical twin.  At freeway speed (55 back in the day), it set up a nice vibe through the seat that was at first pleasant, and after 30 minutes, thigh and butt numbing.  The owner of the bike said he took it on a 2 hour ride, stopped for a rest, put down the stand, dismounted, and then fell over as his legs fell asleep.

My 3.7 cents worth. I'd still test ride it if I were you, just to say you rode one. But the smoothness of the CB750 (such as it is) is amazing by comparison.

I will admit, if I had money to blow I would have one in the shed. However it would not be a rider. I still remember Lee Majors in "The Balled of Andy Crocker" out running the cops on one, and thinking how COOL it was.

Busted!! It's legible, therefore not mine  Pops and I stopped and looked at the Triumphs today.I cant put my finger on it,but they just seem crude to look at.I mean, they're very pretty bikes, but they just look much older than mid 70s to me.I'm not real hepped up on the right side shift either.BUT,I found out today that a guy nearby pulled the "built" motor out of his CB750 chopper in favor for a stock one he already had.Said it had too much power. This sounds promising.

I agree, if he really likes her, he should get her a CB, but if it's too big, get one of the smaller ones, like this….http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/mcy/2835908648.html
