Lucky, I did have the pilot jet out, and could see light through it. Also could blow carb cleaner through the circuit.

Hellbilly, I'm not sure what my XL 80 is. However the coil would not work on the bobber. It Twinstar is a two cylinder that uses one coil with two leads.

Sounds like fuel delivery to me also, new carb right? What about checking bowl float level? Not a bike mechanic, more car konwledge, but learning!

I was thinking about this while setting up some gears today. Have you double checked the dwell? Shortened dwell times can cause poor coil saturation which can create very low ignition voltage. Not like you don't already know that.Just a thought.
