The one on your bike looked pretty good. Whats the problem with it?

So the bike was sitting for 5years when I bought it in 2011.I let sit till pretty much now.The carbs we're the problem when I bought it.I sent to the carbs to the carb guy and had him rebuild them.I did not have them cleanded they are all new on the inside.
I kept flushing the tank and its just junky/funky on in side.I gave the tank to the guy that did the carbs,he has a radator shop he works with on this kinda thing. As htere doing what they do they see that as there taking the rust our the tank is start to leak!.The raditor shop gave the tank back to my carb guy.He started soidering the bottom of the tank on the petcock side.As hes checking his work hes the other side is leaking too.So thats why I'm looking for a tank.
I've Kreamed tanks in the past.Sooner or later it goes poorly.I dont want to go that way.
I spent 200.00 on the carbs.I have tires on order, the aluminum is all polished up.This bike could be real nice.I need to hear ir run!If she sounds right I could be on to something here!12000 miles!!I can paint a little,I think she'll be a real head turner when done.

Just take a pointed hammer, or a hammer, and punch, and dent the metal in a little. Then take some JB Weld (I like to use the putty you knead by hand) and fill in the dents you made. Sand smooth, and paint. Will not leak again there.

Tools is right. I had a pin hole in my tank and JB Weld'd it shut about 2 years and 15k miles ago. I didn't even do a good job at it. It was supposed to be a temporary plug until I could properly drain the tank and clean that area ''right''. I just mixed up a quick dab and shoved it on there.Still holding. Good stuff. Done ''right'', it's amazing stuff.

ha, effin' ebay.

yes, if there's a few guys bidding it can get exciting at the end.

As far as years/fit, I'm weak on the sohc's, sorry 'bout that guy.
