Mike,

I’m kind of torn between chroming and polishing. I guess each has it’s place.

I’m in Bartlesville, OK. I need 2 fork sliders/legs done for a 1982 Honda CB750SC.

What do u recommend as an overlay to keep/protect the shine?

??

Thanks

Matt.

I would quote you 75.00 for both tubes with out hearing from you.If they are super pitted we would have to adjust. As far what do I put on to protect the Aluminum the answer is nothing! You can put clear on but sooner or later it yellows and it just is not the way to go.Most people I polish for really care about what I polished for them and do a little maintance every year.If just clean the polished parts parts with Mothers or??? the finish will stay bright for years!
Chrome or polished hum.I'm sure polished is much less expensive and polished will never fake off ect.Chrome is alittle brighter though.Your call!I would not mix them though, polished tubes chrome engine covers ect but its not my bike.
Thanks for asking about Shiny Mikes metal polishing.I only polish on Fri and Sundays any more,I dont have much in front of you if you want to do something.Mike in Cleveland.

Very good workmanship!!

You just have to get the shipping figured out.
Also I would be worried about getting my parts back.

I do not know how you work that out.

A little faith brother!I can understand getting ripped off as a real concern. In tring to give my customer some piece of mind I gave him my address, home work and think I gave him my cell number too.True there are no guarntees on anything in this life.
Would it make any sence for me or anyone in this postion to do something dumb like not do a GREAT job in a timly fashion over a set of caliburs and fork tubes? How about my customer comes back to this fourm and any other bike custom car fourms hes on and tells you/them what a great job was done for him?Again when your dealing with someone you never met its hard.Back to a little faith brother!Shiny Mike

R u talking to me or the other guy who posted? Always takes a little faith. I’ve had more problems with f2f than over internet.

Matt.

Stuff will be mail as soon as I get the calipers disassembled. Cannot get pistons out. Got 1 out but there are 2 in each.

RE: I polish!

Thanks Tools.
When I went back to work full time at my REAL job I tried to slow Shiny Mikes down.I'd come home from work and there would wheels or boxes of aluminum parts in back yard!Mostly from prevous or referral customers, pretty cool all in all.I still like polishing I even hired acouple of people to come over to help me.For me there is just no reason to not do what I say I'm going to do.
I'm not looking for polishing work right now but I'm not going to say no either.I'm tring to find time for the project 750f.Shiny Mike

RE: I polish!

MattGinOK

Mike,

I’ll send the legs first and then work on getting the calipers in shape and then send those. I won’t need them for about 3 months.

Will that work?

Thanks

Matt.
