Is this a frame repair of is this normal CB750K

beardedhoneybadger
I am new to Honda's so please be patient. I bought this bike this week and as I was striping it down to get to work on the engine I noticed a gap in the frame on the right side. What I am wondering is this the way it was designed or has the frame broken and been repaired? Any help would be really appreciated.

Frame gap?

That section of frame is removable to facilitate engine removal.

Yep, if you follow that same tube down and back, you will see another similar gap near the foot peg mount.
