Are they just indicators, or are they running lights as well?

If they are running lights then they will get hot after a few minutes. I can't imagine turn signals getting hot, though, as they aren't on for long periods of time.

Truck
is the housing getting hot or just the bulbs?
It's only illegal if you get caught.

If at first you don't succeed, use more lighter fluid

The housing is getting hot. Like I said, hot enough that you couldn't grab on to them. I am concerned they may melt eventually. Ribs I'm having trouble with my turning signal relay so  at the moment I can't get them to flash. At the moment they are running all the time. I'm picking a new one up today. The lights aren't LED just ambers and I'm 99% certain they are wired correctly. Black to orange or blue and in this case yellow to green.

Take the covers off and look at the bulbs. Are BOTH filaments on?

Just 1 filament shouldn't make housings that hot. Warm, sure, but not too hot to hold. Being that hot would indicate that both filaments are on, and so things are not wired right.

We host a number of wiring diagrams but without knowing what bike you have, it is hard to find the 1 you might need. Maybe you did put your bike in and I just missed it though?

I KNEW IT!

Yeah, you'll do a number of small goofs learning how things work. Good thing is these bikes are tough and can handle most anything.
