I use Fram CH 6009 oil filters. Advance Auto has them on the shelf, for $4.99

It should fit. It's the filter Honda used on all the old bikes, and it even fits Kawasaki KZ 750, 900, 1000.

Okay.I dont know the difference, but I know there are two different filters for the CB's.I know bike has the longer of the two bolts,so I figured there was a difference in length on the filter cartridge, too.

I think it has to do with oil cooler thingy between the oil filter housing, and the case on the 77-78 F models.

I just checked, and yours has the short bolt. The 77-78 F has the oil cooler, and longer bolt. However they do use the same filter.

I went to autozone, advanced, Walmart and oreillys looking for the fram ch6009, but no one had it stock and the only one I could find to order was the k and n. got it for 9$ out the door from advanced. When I took the old filter out, it was a made in Poland NAPA filter. Didn't even think to check there, will do next time.
