Kickstand Lean

kigsby
Here's a pic of my bike - Is it supposed to lean over this much?  I have to put a block of wood down under the kickstand or I'm not able to get it to sit up straight.  I have other bikes as heavy or heavier and have no problem.   Is there a kickstand from another model I could use instead that would bring it a little bit more vertical?

Welcome to the forum.

The lean does look a bit excessive.  Could be tall tires/wheels, longer than normal kickstand, or the mount for the kickstand has gotten bent somehow.

As long as it works, I would think it's OK.  Matter of fact, it's less prone to tipping over (or kicking over by some unscrupulous people) if it's leaning like that.

Thanks Luke - I'll look at those things.   I have no problem riding, just getting on and picking it up.   I put a block of wood under it at home, but it was kind of embarrassing when we took the bikes out for a ride and when we left, my husband had to help me lift it up straight.  I've been looking at pics and youtube videos and it seems alot of other people are using wood blocks.  I was hoping for a better solution than carrying around a block of wood with me.  Thanks for the help!

It looks like your kickstand is bent. This is very common from people sitting on the bike while it is on the kickstand. Another cause, for this is people leaning the bike over on the kickstand, and lifting the rear wheel off the ground to put the center stand down. Just find yourself a torch, and heat the kickstand up, and bend it back into position.
