Lacing spokes... Difficulty with stock rim to stock hubs

Help!!! I'm having a hell of a time lacing up my 72 cb750 front wheel. Stock hub to stock 19 rims. I've nearly watched all YouTube demos and have used the correct angled spoke for inner vs outer spokes. And I've gotten the pattern down. Can't seem to get the last set of outer spokes on. Doesn't seem to have enough length. Any one encounter the same problem? What the heck am I doing wrong?

        Try standing wheel instead of laying down

I figured it out. Turns out I was 1 hole off with the outer spokes. The rest was cake. Now truing it is a different story
