Looking at a CB450

I dont know if this deal will go thru or not,or even what the deal is yet,but if I end up going to look at it I would like to be at least halfway informed. I dont even know what year it is. All I know it's supposed to be a CB450...that's it. Anything in particular to look for? If parts are missing, which ones are impossible to find? I have a swingarm and complete front end for a SOHC 750-will these interchange?

And the catch-all question: are these good bikes and what are they worth?

Before someone asks, I seriously doubt he has a title, but that is an easy problem to fix in VA. Like $30 easy.

Why would you ask such questions? It is a Honda!! And one of the best Honda's ever built. If they had made it a 650, they would have changed the whole world of motorcycling 4 years sooner.

OK,that sounds good to me. Will it haul my fat butt down the interstate at 70mph at least? Actually, this might end up being Crys's bike.

That bike was banned from racing back in the late 60's because it was too fast. And it was racing 650cc bikes.

Quiute a few years ago i had a 74 CB450, very dependable and i thought it was quite cool looking.  It took me from Michigan  through Ontario and then down the east coast of the New England States. Back then i was about 185 lbs and it would easily take me down the road at 75-80 mph.

Thanks Vintage. I think they look pretty cool, too. I love how the pipes look.I have a few more pounds on me than you dobut maybe I'm more aerodynamic????

Piute,I dont even know what year it is bud. I have been emailing the guy for a few days. This is all I can drag out of him at this point? :

ME:Hey there,I saw your ad on Craigslist.I need some clutch parts for a CB750. A hub actually. Maybe need some other parts too. Feel free to call. Names Eric.

HIM:Biggest cb I got is 550.

ME:  Do you have any bikes that are complete or nearly complete? If so,could you give me a price? Thanks-Eric

HIM:Got a cb450 that's on the frame. Missing front wheel. Badass lookin motor though.

ME: Sounds good. Badass meaning it looks good,or looks modified? Do you have a title and how much do you want for it?

No reply since Saturday. Probably a deadend, but you never can tell...
