Loose Wires

flattoptodd
I have a '75 CB750 and I have these 2 loose wires behind left side cover, I can't find where they might connect or do they even go to anything?!?!!? I've only had the bike about a year and they have been loose since I got it. It seems like I am having problems with the charging system, could this be the reason?

I have to see if I can dig it up but if I remember correctly the green wire does not go to anything. The US model did not use that wire. The red wire should be connected, but I can remember to what.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Use a test light and see if the red is hot with the key off. If so it's an accessory wire and isn't used. I think green is ground and also isn't used.

Depending on the country of origin and time of the bike, some winker units had three pins, including two earths.  Most replacement winker units have only two pins.  It is possible that the green wire is the second earth for the original winker unit.  If so, it is not necesary, but it is always worth earthing it somewhere on the bike.

Cheers
