Sorry to say, not to motorcycle Mecca, but to classic truck Mecca. Yes I made a Pilgrimage to LMC Truck. I needed a new hood latch for the toolhauler, and their web site said they had them in stock. So I headed out to Kansas. When I walked into the showroom, I was amazed. They had some custom trucks in there for me to drool over. Then I was overwhelmed with the sea of chrome. There were bumpers, grills, engine parts, and transmission parts. Trim pieces dangled from the walls like Christmas ornaments. There were even displays of custom painted doors, and body panels. When I got to the counter I was met by two very friendly parts guys. When I told them what I needed, they pulled out a catalog, yes that's right, a catalog, not a computer screen. In just a few minutes another guy came out of the back with my much needed, but not as exciting hood latch. On my way out I stopped for a moment to watch their big screen TV. It was showing a show with wild girls partying. It was OK, but upon talking with the guys hanging around, we all agreed we would rather watch American Pickers. Go figure.
