More Internet motorcycle randomness….

Thanks StumbleUpon, for finding the weirdest stuff I would never even THINK of looking for….

The thought never even crossed my mind that modern sport bike seats are less than comfortable for our passengers. Fortunately, our classic bikes have what's basically a big two person couch in comparison. This should make it much easier to find a pretty passenger. lol

Which is why I asked my wife to get on the Shadow's passenger seat, and see how it feels.  She's average sized (5'4" about 120), and realized in about 3 minutes that riding for ANY distance on that seat was not for her.  So, I center-standed the bike, hopped on the back, and promptly agreed.  Tired foam, not wide enough to fit the isschial bones, just plain not good.

Now, by comparison, a friend of mine just picked up a 2005 Goldwing, and that bike is nicely designed for 2-up riding. Even took it out for my first ride on a GW.  What a smooth and strong bike THAT is.

Get a Corbin seat. They are the most comfortable seat there is. I have one I put on the Toolmatic, for long trips, and I have ridden other bikes with them. Can't say anything bad about them, other then the old ones were ugly, but the newer ones look good.

These old foam seats get hard and crumbly. Mine still seems ok but sometime I might redo it. Put in a good dense core, then wrap it in a bit of a softer foam, and finally a really soft foam to contour. Sounds nice but might just give me a wedgie!
