More confusion with wiring diagram??????

slownugly007
So I went back and looked at my clymers and my haynes wiring diagrams for my 81 750f ss, and both diagrams are different, with different colored wires and all?!!?? Ive been using my clymers while I rewired my bike and was having trouble figuring out my green ground wires. The green that comes out of the headlight ties into horn button, clutch switch, and indicator lights and splits off to a black box but never ties into the other green wire that grounds to the frame?? Is this mysterious black box suppose to be a ground? And like i said I was going to cross reference both manuals but on my other one the wires to my ts relay were two deifferent colors then what clymers showed so I just stuck with clymers. Has anybody had any experience with this or rewiring your bike? again any help or direction is appreciated, more than likely im just making this a bigger problem then it really is!? lol thanks guys!

Try this link for DOHC wiring diagrams, and see if you can find something that fits.  I don't recall having a "black box" on my 1979 model, but maybe something changed.  If you're lucky, it may have a part number on it, with which you can search on bikebandit.com or the Google and see if there's more info.

Technically, everything should come back (eventually) to the negative post of the battery, be it frame, headlight ground, turn signal ground, engine (for spark plugs).  Typically, there is a green wire that ties to the frame under the front part of the seat.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.
