Nothing worse than salt water corrosion.
Spray everything with WD 40 to start.
On a Roadstar Adventure.

I have a retarded question here...

Since none of my bikes are OEM, shouldn't the rear wheel be centered perfectly in the swingarm?

With my rear wheel, the sprockets look pretty aligned, but the tire is a good 1" right of center.
Meaning, the tire is closer to the right shock absorber than the left one.

This can't be right can it?

Nevermind. I guess.

I swapped some other spacers in there and have it pretty center now.
I need to make a 6.5mm spacer to fill in the gap on the brake side now.

Should be done tomorrow, so I can finish up this chain.

Well, the master link (rivet type) for this chain wouldn't flare.
I used two different tools, and the end cracked on one pin before I gave up.

I ended up tack welding it to the face plate.

Before I did that though, I tested the tack on a few links I cut out of the chain.

Worked fine, and will definitely hold that plate on.

I bent up some brackets that I'll use for the seat, some pics coming.

Still need a front spacer for the right side of the front wheel.

Might have to make that.

Mocked up the front brakes.
Going to measure and get nice braided lines made.

Working on the brackets for the seat.
Also, ordered a replacement master link for the chain because I don't want to chance the last one.

Would like to finish it so I can work on my other bike, the GS750:

are you going to fab up a shield for the pods or just not worry about the lack of performance? or try and jet around it?

Sorry to confuse, that last bike is my other bike and it runs very well with the pod's and jets.

The CB will have an airbox on at first, and we'll see how well it runs.

lol ok makes sense. i was confused i was like wait the swing arm is box on one side and round on the other? and it just looks different all together what the heck lol iv seen people keep the pods and just build a box around them so to speak, with just a sheet of aluminum.

Got the new brake lines in, new master cylinder mounted, brakes bled.
All looks okay.
The wheel is dragging a little after bleeding the calipers, but I'll wait till it does a few laps around the neighborhood before I attempt tearing it apart again.

I think tomorrow I'll finish up the brackets for the seat to get that done.
Also, start working on the wiring.

I'll have to make up some new spark plug wires, and mount the coils.
I have a brand new set of aftermarket ones, but I think I'll use some stock ones till I know the wiring is good.
I don't want to blow them up on accident.

my right side caliper drags a bit. just enough to slow the wheel down when free spinning it but doesnt really effect riding. if you find a way to make it stop please post for sure

Got the exhaust on the bike, and the seat brackets welded in and painted.
Gas tank bracket is also welded in and painted.

Here are a couple pics.

I will need to modify the fender bracket, as it's just a hair undersized to bolt up to the forks.
