My other 75 cb750

turtle
I got this bike in on a deal for a parts bike that I was buying> The guy was moving and didnt want to take it with him. It didnt have a title or key for it. Took me awhile but I was able to track down the PO and got a title for it. Then it took me a day calling around to get a key cut from the code. It doesnt run but I think once I replace the coil and clean the carbs it should run. Its lowered and has a heel toe shifter.

Also what is the compression for these bikes? I belive the bike has low compression.

Not sure if the compression varies depending on the year, but I do know that it is specified in the FSM which you can find a link to on the front page.

That is a rough looking bike, what are your plans for it?

It does have some rough spots, but it looks like a great, solid starting point. That shifter looks cool! Anything over 125 psi of compression will run OK. Not sure what the FSM calls for but I'll take a look. I'm not sure how familiar you are with these bikes, but if you are thinking it has low compression judging by the kick starter I wouldn't let that worry you. These bikes are super easy to kick over. It's like kickstarting a sewing machine

This post was updated on .
Right now my plans are to get it running and be safe to ride. As well as new coat of paint on the tank and side covers.

The reason I think the compession is a bit low is due to the fact I can push down on the kick start by hand and turn the motor over.

I also have the bike for sale locally or trade.

Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to get into it more this weekend. I've got a feeling this bike is going to be stubborn. Ive found missing bolts in the exhaust and fender. Plus some hacking on the wiring.

Also anyone got a good picture of the factory front headlight and turnsignals. Im trying to get an idea what is exactly missing on this one as well as my other bike.

Re: My other 75 cb750

I decide to try and at least get it to run in order to sell it easier.

Where does this light green wire go? It goes back towards the fuse box in the harness and is broken up by the coil. Also the dark green wire goes to nothing.  Would I be better off just putting a new harness in? How much of a pain is it to install?  Anyone is close to me and doesn't mind taking a look at the wiring I'd really appreciate it.

If your just going to Start to sell "" Hot . wire it "" get a line(fuse link also) long enough to get to ingnition plug from what ever 12 volt you got.Be sure to ground that batt. to frame(good clean raw metal ground).Very easy with the diagram .
Will start the bike but with bad wires (as you said just start to sell)don't tap into brn.wires there yo winkers N lights check yo diagram.

The dark green is most likely a ground, which some of them do in fact lead to nowhere. It's like they left open taps or something. ight green should be the wire from the horn button to the ground side of the horn IIRC

Totally normal. They're like that. Sometimes I start mine by hand just for poops and ha-ha's

Oh sure. Make those other guys around you REALLY question his manhood. "Man, he's got a motorcycle? AND its a kick-start? AND HE CAN KICK-START IT BY HAND? Here, have my lady. Not like I'm man enough anymore."
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Got the wiring figured out. Light green for horn. Dark green was not needed. Also decided to pull the cover and found the points rusted. Thus the reason for no spark. Once again she is for sale.
