Mystery cv carb piece?

In looking at a couple sets of cv carb bodies I have, I found that one set is missing a small brass fitting.
It's hard to describe, so I'll let some pictures dop the talking.

Pics are from the top looking down inside the stripped down carb bodies.





This pic is blurry, but shows the location better:



Any ideas of what it is or how to remove them from one body and transfer to another?
