Need some help won't start

graham
Hello new to the site got a 75 cb750 was my dads been sitting for over ten years. I Cleaned out tank cleaned carbs new battery fuel lines cleaned spark plugs. Had it running one time for about 1min then it died know won't start. It dose not have a electric start button so it's kick only. Last my father told me when he got it he had it rebuilt. So any help would be great this is my first  bike over 90cc and 10 years.

It takes three things to make an engine run, Gas, spark, and compression. Take out a spark plug, and hook it back up to the wire, then ground it against the engine, and crank it. Look for spark at the plug. If it has spark, check to see if gas is getting to the combustion chamber. You can look for gas on the plugs to tell if it is getting to them. Just because you have gas getting to the carbs does not mean it is going through the carbs. After you know which problem you are dealing with it will be easier to help.

To make life easy you can jump out the starter solenoid to save you from having to kick it.

These bikes don't have accelerator pumps so sometimes a SMALL shot of starting fluid is helpful. If it will strt with starting fluid but you have to keep revving it, or choke it, to keep it running then your idle jets are plugged.

They are tiny and require a small piece of wire to clean them. Practically impossible to clean them with cleaners and soaking alone.
