Neutral indicator light

I just rewired my 1977 CB750F, I did it as bare as I could. It's kick only so there no starter anymore. The only problem I have are the indicator lights on my new gauge. How is the neutral and oil pressure light suppose to hook up? I have the lights grounded and the positive attached to each wire neutral and oil pressure wires.

You run a HOT wire to the lights, and the switches are the ground. I know it seems backward, but thats the right way.

So right now I have the light to a neutral switch and the ground to the frame, so you're saying I need the ground line to the neutral switch and the light to a hot wire? I just want to make sure before I start cutting some of this stuff out. Same goes for the oil pressure light??

Thanks for the tip! I just bought new gauges for my cb750k4 and I couldn't get it right. I read this thread and now everything works great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
