New CB 750 rider

j_teether
Hi,

I am relatively new to the world of cycling and I am (hopefully) going to be buying a '72 CB 750. I just wanted some feedback on what seasoned cyclists thought of this as a starter bike/ motorcycle overall.

Thank you!

If you are not familiar with motorcycle maintanence, I suggest you look into a newer bike. That is a vintage bike and they usually need TLC. Easy enough to ride, but newer bikes are more reliable and stop/run much better. I have a 1979 750 and I have been riding for nearly 40 years and still find it a lot of work to upkeep.

Listen to Bugdeath.  If you aren't real good with the tools and concept of preventative and ongoing up keep and maintiance, I would get a newer bike and spend your time riding and enjoying and learning to be a better, most defencive safe rider.  Remember,  "EVERY VEHICLE OUT THERE IS TRYING TO KILL YOU AND YOU NEED TO RIDE LIKE THEY ARE"  Later on when you want to mess with vintage bikes, give it a try.  Unless you have a lot of money and can afford to pay someone else to do you repairs.
