New fella

Rich Ard
Hey everybody!

I'm working on a DOHC 750, and this appears to be the most friendly 750-specific forum out here in this big internet. Think I'll sit a spell - that is, I've been lurking for a bit, but I'm getting to the point where I will be asking questions and posting pics soon, so figured it was time to sign up.

Thanks for having me!

Thanks Piute! Is that Shoshone? Been a while since I lived in that part of the country.

Not much for pics so far; I have a '79 K frame with an '80 F tank and a Hotwing tracker seat sitting on it. Still trying to decide exactly how this one is going to go.

Looking good.  Was it a runner, or are you planning on doing a fair amount of mechanical work as well?

Re: New fella

I got almost three engines, all in parts; one with a wobbly connecting rod, another that he wasn't sure why he had taken apart. Everything had been sitting in the open in a workshop that appeared to get dirt blown around every so often...so I have saved one engine in parts, and am looking for a runner to cannibalize.

So far I have taken this down to the frame and painted it; new wheel bearings and fork seals, and new roller bearings for the steering stem. I will probably replace the carburetors with a set from a GSXR so that I can avoid using the stock airbox.

I have to tie my CB450 engine back up first though! :)

Re: New fella

Hoosier Daddy
Hey Rich Ard, Welcome to the funhouse. You are right, you found a good friendly forum here.
I checked out your build thread on hondatwins, sure looks familiar. I am a member there although not too active at the moment. "Hoosier Daddy" there as well. Her Decon was the one who introduced me to it when I got my K5 450 basket case. Think you and I posted on each others threads there. Yours sure has come a long way! Mine not so much.
Anyhow, the DOHC 750's brought us both here.
Look forward to hanging out with you here as well.

Hey hey - funny how the internet's not so big, eh? You're a familiar name from dotheton as well.

I should probably do something out in the garage instead of fuckin' around on the computer, huh?
