New to CB's...

Honzilla
Hi everyone,

I'm new to CB's and to this site.

I live in Hong Kong and I just bought a 1991 CB 750.  It's got about 55,000 kilometers on it.

Since I am new to these bikes, is there any thing that you folks can tell me I should look out for?

For example; how long is a normally used clutch expected to last on my bike?

I may like to upgrade the front and rear brakes.  It has drum on the rear and a single disk up front.  I think I would like to stick two disks in the front and one on the rear.
Are there any other model wheels that would fit my bike and allow me to easily make these modifications?

Thanks for your help, I look forward to posting my rides soon.

Nice bike. I would like to find a nice 90s model sometime.
As for switching to a rear disk, I am not sure they had one. Having used both, a decent drum works as good as a disk. My 78k has a drum and it operates very well. I have good control and it only locks up if I want it to.
If you can find a model with dual disks, it is best just to swap the whole front end.
I wish I could get more info for you but not many here have the 90s models. So whatever info you can give us would be great. It is an area the is weak here and the more info we can get, the better.

Thanks Re-run,

I'll be happy to post all of my experiences on the bike, good and bad.

I'm really betting on this being a very reliable mode of transportation. But having a little fun with it on the weekends is a nice option to have also.

Do you know where I can find a PDF of a maintenance book for free on line?
I used to have a Haynes manual for my BMW, but honestly it was not very detailed.

Thanks again,
Joe
