New to me CB750 K

scottalx
Hi All,

Yesterday I had the pleasure of purchasing a gently used 1982 CB750 K. All in all, I think it's in pretty great shape for it's age. It does need a little love, but I think it will be alright to ride this summer and then work on in the winter. A question I have for you lot is, how do I determine what "model" the bike is? e.g. Kz, Lz, Ka. Kb, Kc, etc? I see when I'm sourcing some parts they are specific to these model numbers, so if I start buying parts I want to make sure I get some that will "fit". Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't know if this will work, you might just need to write down the vin and call a Honda dealer, they are usually very helpful and can decode this for you.

Thanks, yeah the info in that link doesn't seem to match up with my VIN. I guess the next time I drop by the dealership I'll show it to them and see what they can tell me.

It's simply referred to as you described.  82 CB750 K.  The SOHC's had other designations K1, K2, etc.

Here is a good list of frame/engine codes:
