New to the cb750 world!

Hohokam337
Hello every one,

I just purchased a 1977 cb750.

Doesn't run. But I plan on tearing it down and making a fresh start.
I don't know how you guys feel about cafe racers but those are my intentions to make this beautiful bike into.

Hope some of you enthusiasts can help me get through this project of mine.

Cheers,
Hohokam

Welcome! This is a great place to start. Everyone is welcome on here. Some people get passionate about keeping them original but haven't seen anyone get crazy on here. I am building a hardtail bobber but mine is a Frankenbike made from several incomplete bikes. Post some pics so we can see what ya got.

I just took the whole bike apart and its ready to get powder coated!

I took off the valve cover off and every thing looks to be clean up there, no water or scorch marks.
Should I go further down, see how the pistons look? or just get a bolt kit and put it back together?

also, some of the header bolts are bent... is there an easy fix?

thanks

I would not tear it down any further. I would replace the bent bolts. If double nutting will not get them out, try welding a nut on the bent bolt, and remove it while it is hot.
