No Idea

tattooed750
This just happened, started bike 1972 cb750 warmed her up, hopped on and took off, got to end of parking lot and she died. I noticed the headlight was very dim. Tried to start again and she would not start, so... I waited for a few min. turned bike on headlight was brighr again, she started right up then again died just a few min later, again headlight was dim. What would cause the battery to drain that fast while running? Headlight would get stronger without bike running then battery drain when bike is running? Please anyone got any idea. She ran fine this morning. Sat for 8hrs. At work then this??

With electrical theres to many unseen, unknown, factors involved,
 ? how old is batt.
? how long is to warm up approx 200deg.is good running temp,
? low r.p.m.'s will not charge batt.
? what have you done before (to elec.) .
One can say/suggest/comment and then "" I JUST "THIS or THAT""
better quicker answer need be answered.

Then end results would be great for follow up (next person with prob. See's results)

Agreed. Batteries will recharge themselves slight when they sit.Not much, but they will. These bikes require quite a bit of juice for the ignitions to work right. Pat's spot on,I do believe.

I would start with the battery terminals. Then check the battery voltage. Then the charging system, and all connections. Oh, and be sure to check the connections on the back of the fuse block.
