[QUOTE] the seal and bushings are fused to the  inside wall of the lower tube. [QUOTE]

Maybe you can rig up a slide hammer to pull them out.Spray some PB Blaster on first.

I will try to think that through. I got the seal out with heat. I got the allmium so hot the seal caught fire and when enough had burned away it jus fell out.

I wonder of dry ice on the bushing would help. I'm thinking put the dry ice on the inside bushing for like 10 seconds , before the alluminum has a chance to get cold ..... like 10 seconds. When the bushing shrinks against the alluminum tap it with a hammer. and maybe it will fal out. I'll let you know if it works.

Metals expand and contract at dirreent rates.

I looked at the OEM schematic on Bike Bandit . com and they don't show the bushing as a replaceable part. I was talking to a car mechanic at the dealership where I work. He has a 1978 cb1000. he doesn't think that the bushing comes out. So, I'm going to order all the parts that I need and rebuild it if it doesn't work then ...

I got all my seals and gaskets & all my brand new rubber carb boots, clamps, bolts and washers today. I am sending the engine out in about 6 weeks to be put back together. I'm good at taking things apart... I decided I'm not using pods against the threat of maiming from my carb rebuilder, lol! He says pods just don't work on a dohc. so I am going to recondition the air box that came with it. I have it packed away and I know it is caked with greasy dirt. after I clean it up I'll see if I want it on my sculpture.

Jesus said "no one puts new wine in old wine skins". Of course, as we all know, he was referring to and trying to tell the apostles that when you rebuild your motorcycle, don't do a crap job and go 90%. If that old air box can't be made to look like new well then, throw it out and find a new one and "you shall inherit the earth, Amen". He then said "the poor will always be with you; but, I have a limited time to be with you. So, open your purse string and show ME what you can do". I don't want to upset the Redeem-En-Ator, or any other biblical super hero! I'd like a new one if anyone knows of one laying around or a sure fire way to make it look new. I think that would make Jesus happy.

I have pictures.............. to prove it
