Oil seal for tach cable.

1975 sohc cb750. I got a new oil seal for the tach cable, Honda OEM part. Does the flat side of the seal go towards the cable with the U channel facing the cylinder head cover? The previous owner had a rubber o ring shoved in there that failed. The picture in the FSM isn't clear enough to see. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the flat side would face outward. The U-channel goes in. Right-o.
