Open header to 4 into 1 question

I viewed a bunch of old threads and didn't see quite what I was looking for. I am looking at a mac 4 into 1 system, but right now my 76 cb750k has only a 4 into 1 drag pipe. I like the sound but HATE the back firing. Any reason why I would need to mess with the carbs? Pod filters, by the way, replaced the stock intake unit, unfortunately. Also, I don't want the thing sounding TOO tame...

I had the same popping issue when i was running just a 4-1 w/no slip on. I did this and it worked out pretty good.
