PAMCO Ignition

settles
I bought the PAMCO over the winter and installed it myself. Once I got it wired in (correctly) the bike fired up with no choke, a spark plug out and the fuel off!  I still need to set the final position with a timing gun but it runs pretty damned good on the SWAG based position I set it at.

I don't notice any real performance gains but the fact that it starts so easily was worth the price alone. I paid $125 shipped from the PAMCO website.  I used the original coils and last season I put some NGK Iridium plugs in it too.

My only gripe is that I wish they would've made the wires a little longer so that I could've hid them better. But my bike isn't exactly a beauty queen so it isn't the end of the world.

The pamco should give you a lot of troublefree service. They have been primarily used on yamaha xs650s for years and have a good reputation there.

Re: PAMCO Ignition

Took it out last night and it ran pretty good but there is some adjustment that needs to be made.  It starts to lag at high RPMs.  Thats cool, I'm going to get the timing gun out this weekend and iron it out.  Still, I'm pretty impressed with how good it does run with position determined by a wild-assed guess.

I would tell anyone thinking about getting one to do so just for the ease of starting.

If and when my dyna S fails, a pamco is what i will probably choose.

I have a Martek in mine.It was in there when I got the bike. I have no clue to the age of it or how many miles is on it. I have considered buying another just to have it ready in case mine fails. You know,so I don't lose any riding time! So the Pamco is the way to go?

I like it a lot so far. It starts without the choke!  Price was like $120 including shipping. Installation was really straight-forward. I used the original coils so I saved a little $ there. If it breaks I will definitely post here about it.
