Pilot jet O rings and washers

zonson
My carbs were leaking which lead me to clean them. After about 3 tries, the bike still rev hangs and will stall when I give it more than 1/4 a turn on the throttle. I thought air leak and cheeked, carb boots are new. I also tried adjusting pilot jets and still not go. Gas was leaking from one over flow tube and after a 3rd time cleaning them gas was dripping from the bowl it self. I found that one of the bowls was heavier than the others, I adjusted it, and ordered another one just in case, and the leak stopped. I still have the rev hang though and the stall.

So I took the carbs apart again after some research and remembered that I had to replace the O rings before because they were flattened. Come to find out these ended up being flat too.

The odd thing is that I found in this order: 2 washers, 1 O-ring, 1 spring, 1 washer, 1 O-ring, & then the pilot jet.

Should there be that many washers at the bottom? I am going to order the O-rings, but, should I order 8 O-rings, and 12 new washers. I do not remember putting that many washers in the first time I rebuilt the carbs.

I think you are referring to fuel/idle adjustment screws, and not the pilot jets. The order on the fuel screws is O-ring, washer, spring, fuel screw, or in other words, slide the spring onto the fuel screw followed by the washer, and then the O-ring. Hope this makes sense.

Thank you Tools. I did order new O rings and washers.

Question, in the picture the top is what you are saying and the bottom is what they were at when I took them out, (i missed a washer, it was; O-ring, two washers, and then spring, washer O-ring, pin) . Could that setup (bottom) cause rev hang and gas leaks?
