Pod filters

From what i red, to install pod filters on a dohc is a big mistake/nightmare, it simply looks impossible to adjust the carbs with them... Only option is to install 1000$ CR carbs? Thanx

I hate the pods. But that's what came with my bike. Next year I plan on purchasing a stock intake box. Well, if Tools still has one that is.

Well, from what i see, they only look good and they're actually shit for a CB750 DOHC, am i right?

it's not that they don't work.  The carb design is a constant vacuum design, and the stock airbox was designed to provide that amount of vacuum.  Going to pods without changing out the stock air jets takes the vacuum away.  It takes lots of trial and error to get it right.  Then there's the added variable of exhaust: stock pipes differ from aftermarket, baffles or no baffles.

Do LOTS of research on the whole pod filter thing.

What about POD filters for a 1972 Cb750? aren't these SOHC?

The SOHC carbs were a different design.  It's not as critical for the older bikes.

Not as critical as far as vacuum goes since the sohc carbs are an actuated slide. But jetting is still a concern. You also can suffer issues with strong cross winds and in the rain.
If you do go with pods, do yourself a least a bit of a favor and get K&N pods. Not the cheap-o pods. They might look like a good deal but they are junk.

So, the only option if you really want pods is to change carbs. What carbs do the job, besides the 1000$ CR ones?

You can use your stock crabs, they will just require a lot of tinkering to work right.
