Awesome yea just let me know, Id be interested in giving it a shot and trying to make the pods work.

If anyones interested Steel Dragon offers another air box thats a double unit....its priced at $140, which I guess isnt terrible cuz it looks to be well made, but again the overall concept of it seems pretty straight forward and for someone with a little fabrication skill, you could make something similar

@shiny, on their site it says that it use the uni foam as a filter, so I dont know if its just a piece cut the fit the box or if its an actual filter?

heres the other style they offer

Yes, those are similar to what I was thinking of. The ones I have seen were a bit different but this is close enough!

Glad you did get pods working, it can be a lot of trial and error. I wouldn't do it in my area, our weather is just too stupid for it. If I rode based on wind and rain, I would ride 3 times a year probably. 30 mph crosswinds are old hat for me and if I do not ride in the rain a few times every summer, well I just don't know what I would do!

That is a really cool and unique bike you have there. I have seen 1 monoshock set up, and now 1 leaf spring setup.

Ok so I checked at the shop and all I can find is the main jet I used which was a 120 jet. Sorry I could not be of more help.
Making Laps, Twisting the Throttle and Cruzz control, it just don't get any better!

I like the look of those dually
So having 2 boxes would benefit by having more air turbulence

Hey,

So I have been doing a lot of research about throwin pods on my cb750, and I came across this post on a pod section on a different site. Not sure if its applicable to everyone, however it does seem to be an oversight a lot of people may be ignorant to. Figure I'd throw it on here in case any of our cb brothers out there can use it.

"Ok age old question. Why can't I get my bike with cb carbs to run right with pos filters? Ok here is the answer and the solution to your problem. I have a kz 900 with some late model cv carbs on it (don't ask got it that way) with pod filters on it. Bike was running like **** when gave anymore than about 1/4 throttle. Started searching the net to only find the same answer "pods on cv carbs don't work". I don't like being told something won't work so I kept asking until I asked a guy that owns a local shop and this is the fix. If u look at carb there is a kinda kidney bean shaped port , well the pod filters block air flow thru this port. Cv carbs use air(suction) to raise slides. When twist throttle it opens butterfly which supplies air to motor and to carb to move slides via those ports. All u have to do is notch the rubber inside the pod that mates with port. U can pop the filter off the boot and put boot on carb so u can see where and how much to notch. I was lucky to get 2500-3000rpm out of my bike before I did this now it is running fine. U will still have to do some jetting as with any performance upgrade. I hope this post answers this age old question and saves a lot of headaches for people."

I saw this thread earlier today and was intrigued by it. I decided to check out the situation on my '80 DOHC with pods on it.

CB900 carbs.Yep,same ports are present.

With factory air box boot in place.

Factory boot compared to K&N pods.

The lip inside is the same height on a K&N vs a stock boot. If you remove that lip (on these particular pods, at least) it would create a step rather than cure one. No obstruction of the port present.

Re: Pods on a DOHC options

LODY
The K&Ns seem to have a thinner rubber piece on them. The ones I pulled off of my bobber does have a lot of material that may block that port. I will try cutting some of it off and see how they work, but I think I may have to tape them up to keep the vacuum I was getting previously.
