Price my 1981 cb750k bobber just finished

Chitownbiker
Hello I'm a new member here, looking for some insight or info.I just finished my first Honda bobber (81cb750k) and I might be looking to sell or trade if price is right.info on bike=I got bike off CL for $350 all original with 12k miles on it,it was non running with no keys but clear title.it was last registered in 1993 and since then sat in a garage rotting away.I stripped down to bare frame and cut and stripped everything but what was needed to run.I welded and molded a Harley fatboy rear fender to the frame, made my own seat.CycleX in Wisconsin did full rebuild and jetting to carbs which cost my $350.I also did my own wireharness.the bike runs and sounds like a monster.everything is new.but what would you price it?any questions just ask.

I would probably see that for $2-3K up here in Canada.  Price seems to vary so much depending on location though.  I think I remember Mark saying that Florida is expensive, and Tools saying that in MO things are really cheap.

Hell, I see people trying to sell boxes of parts that "used to be a running bike when I took it apart" for $1K.

Yeah I take it you're in the midwest?  Don't sell it there if you're trying to make some serious money.  I bought mine in Minnesota and it's easily worth twice as much in CA.  If you can get to the SF Bay Area that is worth 5-6K, at least.  People will buy it too.

Bobbers go cheap in my area, too. The last bobbed Jap bike I saw that actually sold (after several months) went for a grand. Bobbed twins of any brand bring stupid money around here. I guess people are afraid to go fast.

Nice bike dude.Good luck with the sale.

You know what P.T. Barnum said, right?
I think Seestheday was pretty close and in Chitown you chances are pretty good, Lots of "suckers" there. Black Bobbers are the current rage and "Posers" want to buy a bike that is the popular trend. Start out asking $2800 as it sounds better than $3000, let the guy dicker you down to make him feel good... Then  take anything over $1800. I think if you get $2000 you done good.
