Progressive suspension...

Honzilla
Hi everyone,

I am looking into improving the suspension on my 91' CB 750 Nighthawk.

Does anyone have experience with Progressive suspensions?

I was looking at the spring kit for the front end, for which it appears there is only one option.

For the rear I was looking at the "series 412."  I think that is what they are called...

Seems a little pricy for the bike, for the front and rear is darn near half of what I paid for the bike in the first place.

I guess what I am asking here is:  Is it worth it???

I do like my twisties...

I have not used them myself but the progressive springs are supposed to be really good. Their shocks are better than stock so you wont see worse performance there. other shocks that are good would be Hagon and Ikon which used to be koni. But they are every bit as expensive and maybe a little more.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I put Progressive Fork Springs and 412 Shocks, with Heavy Duty Springs (for two-up touring -- otherwise, use the standard Springs), on my '79 K.  I love them!  They make the bike ride like it is maybe 10 years old, not 30.  The difference was exceptional.  Expensive?  Yes, but well worth it for me.  YMMV.

I have the same upgrade for my 1993 Kawasaki Voyager -- waiting for Spring to install them.  The OEM shocks and forks are air, but putting air in, and maintaining proper PSI, is more hassle than I want to deal with.  I've read comments from other Voyager owners who went with the Progressive 412's:  everyone loves them; they are much better than OEM, and no air to deal with (most owners feel the air option is not worth the effort, or expense).  Cheers!
