Question and pic...

NewRider
Hey guys, I'm nearing road-readiness for my bike (completion is still a long way off, but I really want to get 'er out there) and am having a little electrical problem. I switched out my blinkers and taillight for new ones that I liked the looks of better. I hooked everything up the same as it was, except that my original blinkers didn't have a ground wire so I had to add one off of the taillight ground. Here's the problem...when I apply the brake I blow a fuse. The fuse is a 14 amp and I double checked the connections and those all look good. Can I step up to a 20amp or higher or will that not help? Any info would be appreciated. Oh yeah, here's the pic of how it looked last week. I just got the fender mounted today, and put a new rear tire on two days ago. Thanks!

Thanks guys...got it all figured out.  Apparently the main power to the taillight was on the black wire instead of the red wire (I think it was a taillight manufacturing defect).  After switching the red and black it worked without any more trouble.  Thanks guys!

Photobucket Photobucket Tail light question... The first photo is the rear of my old tail light off a 1978 Honda CB 750. There are 3 wires going from the bike to this light indicated by the 3 red circles. The second photo is the new light I purchased which has a housing that it gets bolted onto (not pictured here). This light has only 2 wires coming from it. My questions is what wires do I connect to which? I though that the center connector on the old light was a ground but it blows the fuse when I ground it. Does anyone have any help to offer, speak simple because I'm borderline retarded when it comes to this stuff. Thanks in advance.
