Rear Shock options

lcochran
I have a 1975 Cb750F SS with stock shocks in the back.  My question is about my options.

I typically ride 2 up, my girlfriend and I.  So our combined weight is about 320 lbs and i notice a significant lowering when we both ride.

Do my stock shocks have any adjustability?
What are some decent aftermarket shocks designed to handle more weight?
Are there any manufactured shocks that have adjustability that wont kill my wallet?
Any links to websites or manufacturers would be greatly appreciated.
I've noticed when i look on most websites my bike isnt listed as an option for the shocks.

If anyone has 2 shocks in decent condition that are what im looking for, let me know.

Your shocks should be adjustable. there is a ring with graduated notches around the lower part of the shock. the notches seat on a fixed seat. By turning the ring, and placing different notches on the seat you are adjusting the preload on the springs. You will need a special wrench. there should be one in your bikes tool kit. If it's not there any friendly independent bike shop will likely let you use there's for a few minutes in the parking lot.
As for different shocks. I think Dennis Kirk carries progressive shocks. You just nee shocks with an eye on one end, and a clevis on the other. But they are pricey. You might also try cyclex.com
