I venture to gues it is adjustment.
Over the years your original chain stretched and then adjusted. When you put a new chain on it is usually shorter. This in turn makes you move the rear wheel further into the swingarm, closer to the engine. That action makes the rear brake rod too slack. There is a thumb screw (#12) on that rod where it passes through the arm at the rear hub. There is a spring on the front side (11), the arm and pivot (7 & 9), then the thumbscrew. You probably need to tighten the thumb screw and take up the slack from moving the rear wheel forward.
