With shops you have 3 options: good, fast, cheap. you can pick one of the 2. First off, if you have a shop do it, it will cost $$$. Not only in parts but they will rape you sideways with barbwire.
Judging by the photos, you will need a LOT of time to clean things up and a lot of parts. Your best bet is to get a manual, preferably a honda manual, for the bike. Get some brillo, steel wool, or scotchbrite pads and some chrome cleaner. Clean your forks and exhaust. See if you can save those. You WILL want to take them all off completely. If you can save those, that will save you some serious dough.
At this time, I will estimate $1000 in parts but that could change after a good washing.
Ultimately you will need to go through the whole bike probably. You might not have to pull the engine apart but be ready for some time spent.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
