ST 1100?

so the 750 is on her last legs though I'm going to *gasp* find a garage and do some work on her myself this winter (what do I do with all the left-over parts?) . . . and am looking for a replacement.

a friend has a 1999 ST 1100 with 280,000km, which I have been told is a mere pittance when it comes to this model. supposedly in good shape (he doesn't ride it any more and its sat for the past couple of years).

any thoughts, those who know the machines?

oh, and he wants 2 grand for it (about a dollar ninety-five US . . . well, maybe a bit more)

Those are VERY nice bikes. I have two friends that have them, and I borrow them on occasion. One of the best riding bikes I have been on. And for traveling I prefer it over a Gold Wing. Not near as heavy and the luggage detaches so you can carry it into a hotel room. And best of all, they are good for a million miles. If you don't want it I'll send you $5.00 US to pick it up for me.

Thanks, tools, I knew I could count on you.

now the question is . . . do I buy a bike from a friend? and then, do I just give him what he wants (when there is one a bit of a drive from here with less miles and a few more doo-dads -- and extra windscreen, a Corbin seat, and something else I can't remember off hand for a couple hundred more, open to offers?).
