STARTER MOTOR

love my 1992 cb 750f2 however i need to buy a starter,
if you have any suggestions or one to sell pls let me know.

Get a local electric motor shop to rebuild it...

local shops cant do it made in segements cant be rewound.

Hmmm, that sucks....Wonder if the windings aren't just fine (usually the case), and the rest of it could be gone over. I'm a big fan of rebuild OEM stuff locally, by an american, with good parts.

Ebay is a good spot for good used stuff, and I've used bikebandit.com for NOS on quite a few times.

guess what, had the starter apart for the 3rd time, cleaned,repacked gears one new brush,thats al i could  buy, my multi meter and the w/shop manual said throw it away,but there were no visible indications of faults,so i gave i one more try on the bench SUCESS.

In most cases a motor failure is caused by the brushes. They are required to operate the motor. It is almost never the actual windings.

today i picked up the complete brush plate, they had it in stock all the time,just a matter of talking to the right person. now the speedo  needle is bouncing around the dial no accuracey at all,any suggestions?

it is usually 2 things. Either the cable is dry and needs lube or the mechanism in the housing is dirty and needs cleaning. To maybe save some sanity, lube the cable first. Maybe also the speedo housing on the front hub.
