Seat replacement question.

Cabreco
Would anybody happen to know if this seat (the front part only)

from a 2005 honda shadow would fit the frame of my 81 CB750K?

I know that some fabrication would be involved in mounting it, but would
the seat fit the frame & look right? I want to replace the stock seat to a solo
but I really like the beefier looking seat like this or an HD wide glide.

I haven't seen it up close but looking at the frames the Shadow frame is on a downward incline where the CB is straight. So, I don't think so.

I think to big.  That seat is the same size as a Valkyrie.

The Shadow seat attaches with the front under a U shaped piece, and the rear bolts to 2 studs coming up through the rear fender and support.  I think most of the DOHC seats bolt to a hinge on the side.

I believe the Shadows fit into a "valley" where the front section and aft sections join up.

Kind of hard to describe.

Re: Seat replacement question.

Ok my NEXT option is to TRY to replace Fiona's seat with a Harley FLHTP seat (one from a police bike)

It measures 18" front to back which is perfect but the width is questionable 18 1/2 "

Fortunately my Yamaha Touring's 2 up seat is also 18 1/2 " wide so...
I will mock place it on Fiona & see if it looks right. (the Yamaha's seat is SOOO comfy on my fat butt) lol!

Most bigger solo seats are meant for the bigger cruisers,As far as H.D. are only from from A Sporty ,As you no test rear not Level,Now you can put any seat on springs and hinges bring ya up to about a 40+ inseam.

Yeah, I'm thinking the big cruiser HD seat would we WAY too wide too Piute. So you think a seat meant for a Sportster may be a better chioce? Or possibly a softail?

I've see some that I think would look good on the DOHC if they fit.

I want to avoid putting any seat on springs to avoid raising the ride height. In not that tall <lol>
I've looked at some of the spring "bobber" seats but the 13" length is too small.

Re: Seat replacement question.

Piute
A good seat, going to run ya about 150-200,
What I thought of doing was use a stk.seat pan of a king/Queen seat and cuting it in half, through the foam and metal, grind the pan(metal bottom) to roundness you wont ,then start cutting foam or leave as is,but ya see my plan was to pt the rear (queen)back on ,so would still have same shape/look(as before) but look good solo.Icould use the space and backrest just pull forward.(on stk.slidder).
   But i have 3 seats,1s off A GL 1100
