Seeking opinion/ advice for setting price to sell 81 cb750k

zack
I'd like people's thoughts on what is a fair price, and how to set a fair price, when listing a motorcycle for sale on Craigslist.

I hope to sell my 1981 cb750k that is in tip-top mechanical condition. After I sell that, I have about three other cb bikes that I hope to sell (due to an anticipated cross-country move in about a year). Currently 6 bikes in the garage and I can't take many with me when I move.

So, when starting to sell, how does one establish price? My bike is cosmetically imperfect. I'd give it a B-. The tank paint is a little faded. Mechanically, the bike is great. New chain, fork seals, tires, carb boots, springs, swing arm bushings, recent tune-up and carb cleaning--all done by a professional mechanic. there is almost zero rust on the pipes. The pipes and frame look new. Non-original seat, but looks similar to original. Mileage is 18,500. Currently registered and inspected, a capable daily driver. No mechanical gremlins!

Where do I start on pricing this? Of course, I'd like to receive $2,000. But if I were buying one, I'd like to find one for $1,000.

Any thoughts please? What's fair? Ultimately, I'd like to offer for sale at a price that I believe is fair and honest--fair to the buyer and fair to me.

I would look at the average prices in your area and probably watch ebay some to see what bikes in similar condition are being sold for. I would not bother with KBB as they really don't take much into account.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
