Well about a month ago I got some new shinko tires. The 712 series. Looked and felt really nice. Mounted them and sorta balanced! Finally got to use them good on friday.
Now I have a 78k and so it is not a road burner but it does alright. These tires kept up great! On cement roads they cut in rain grooves and these tires did great on those. On the seams between the slabs, tires sometimes catch a little, not these. smooth changes are really nice. And to top it off, half of this riding was in the rain! While these tires may not be metzlers or avons, for a cheap tire, they work very well.
A back story on this company. In the 90s sometime, yokohama's motorcycle tire plant burned down. Instead of rebuilding, they sold the molds and such for their tires. Shinko is the company that bought these molds.
To give you and idea, I paid under $100...for both! from

The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
