Good luck. You'll have to track down who currently has the title in their name at your Secretary of State/DMV/people-who-hold-titles.

There's also shady ways of doing it, but not really going to suggest doing something that MIGHT have legal repercussions.
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Im fixing to drop $200 on a uncomplete, untitled frame and a was-running-10-years -ago motor.

Yeah,I'd go 275 on that.Looks very complete. Doesnt matter i a certain part is bad or not,you gotta have something in your hand to rebuild.

If you like that model I'd jump on it.Title or not

Every state is different about titles. GA, and AL do not have titles on older bikes. KS does not require one on a bike that is 35 years old, but MO is a bitch if there is no title. However in MO, you can petition the court, for a declaratory judgment, and get a title with that. Just check with your state DMV.

There's a thread on another forum of a guy that you sell the bike to him, he goes to his DMV which accepts bill of sales as proof of ownership, they issue him a new title, then you buy the bike back from him. If your state is a PITA to get proof of ownership without a title.

That was the shady way I'd mentioned before. But if the bike's stolen, may god have mercy on your soul - because I sure won't.
